Grab your friends and head out for a paddle with a twist. Whizz or glide along the scenic canal spots through Barrow-On-Soar, Quorn, and Mountsorrel, stop off at one of the riverside pubs for a refreshing drink on ice and your weekly quota of fried halloumi, before taking a chilled meander back to base.
Starting Point: Proctors Park
From the starting point at Proctors park, you’ll have a few options on the day. The closest riverside pub is The moorings only 5-10 minutes from the start, the next is the navigation which is a short 20-25 minutes paddle and the final choice is the Waterside Inn which is 1 hour 30-minute paddle from Proctors park.
Once the trip is confirmed we will send over all the paddle timings to help you book the right pub for you and the style of experience you desire.
Please note:
We strongly discourage alcohol while on our experiences.
Finishing off:
After you have enjoyed food, catch-ups, and giggles on your adventure it’s time to then begin your journey back to Proctors Park.
Please note that bookings can only be made by persons 18 years old or over!
Please meet the instructor in the grass car park, to the right as you go through the barrier.
Thank you, your booking has been made successfully. Please read the below information carefully.

Kayak Type
Types: Single, double, or triple kayak.
Boat types are decided on the day depending on participant age and group sizes
Guided/Hire
On our unguided hire trips, there is no instructor present, participants should be able to paddle at a suitable level so that they can look after themselves. Should a participant not be able to paddle independently they may be asked to hand back the equipment with no refund. Please note we do offer instructor lead sessions if you require instruction.
Music systems/Alcohol
Loud music and alcohol are not permitted on our kayaks. If you are found to be drinking on the water or playing loud music a member of staff is permitted to cancel your trip with no refund. This is to respect the local area, environment, and your safety. Thank you for understanding. We ask that if you are to have an alcoholic drink at the riverside pubs you keep it to a 2 drink limit. If you are found to be drinking excess of this then your trip will be canceled. This is for your and other's safety on the water.
Clothing & What To Bring:
Please bring with you spare clothing (top, trousers, shoes, towel), as you are kayaking and you will get wet. Dry bag, swimwear tops/bottoms, towel, clothing you do not mind getting wet, especially shoes. There are no changing facilities so please come ready.
What Will Happen On The Day:
After meeting, familiarisation yourself with the boats and gear, and going through safety instructions you will head on to the water. You will be given a buoyancy aid & paddle.
Although you don’t need to have kayaked before, you do need a moderate level of fitness. You may have to go under low bridges, some of which you need to lie down for (if high water). You may carry your kayak a short distance over weirs and locks.
On Route:
On the paddle, you'll paddle through plenty of countrysides and will find a couple of lovely riverside pubs to stop off at for some food and drink.
Make a booking for food & drink directly with the pub (food and drink not included in experience): We start at the beginning of three amazing pubs, so please only book at one of them. We highly recommend The Navigation for the middle of your trip.
Navigation Inn (15 minutes from start time)
The Moorings (5 minutes from start time - recommended before or after the experience)
- Phone: 0116 230 2758
- Email: info@themoorings.pub
Waterside Inn (1hour 30 minutes from start time)
Only book this pub if you do not plan on arranging a full meal, as kitchen delays may restrict your paddle/return time.
